PRO CONTEST
The DEEP WINTER Photo Challenge will invite 5 pro ski and snowboard photographers to team up with athletes of their choice to capture the epic powder days, stormy conditions and deep tree skiing of Whistler and Blackcomb mountain's 'typical' January season.
With $6000 up for grabs the photographers will have less than 3 days to shoot in and around the Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. From Monday morning to closing time Wednesday afternoon these photographers will search in and around Whistler Blackcomb for the perfect landscape, abstract, lifestyle and action photos.
All 5 photographers will each create a montage of their best images from the week and these slideshows will be shown Thursday night, January 7th at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Tickets are $15.00. Doors open at 7pm, slideshows start at 8pm.

PRO BIOS (IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER)
COLIN ADAIR
Colin Adair spent many years learning the ropes of photography, backcountry snowboarding and life in the Whistler valley before relocating to Vancouver a few years ago.
As photo editor of Snowboard Canada magazine for 7 years he split his time between the west coast and Toronto. Now, currently working for DC Shoe Co USA as their staff snowboard photographer, he travels constantly chasing snow and 'living the dream'.

BRIAN HOCKENSTEIN
Brian Hockenstein is 28 years old and grew up in English-speaking Montreal. He's lived in Whistler for 8.5 years. He loves using his cameras (photo or video) to share the incredible experiences he has here on a daily basis with the rest of the world - mostly in hopes that one day his big brother will stop calling him a bum.
His loves to shoot all aspects of snowboarding. His only rule is that he has fun doing it. He says he's extremely thankful to the photographers who have come before him, as many of them have been huge inspirations and teachers over the past few years, something that would not necessarily happen in another profession. He simply loves what he does.

JORDAN MANLEY
Jordan Manley is a Vancouver based photographer. He is a Senior photographer for Powder magazine, and contributes to a range of international titles.
The 25 year old has travelled from Alaska to Antarctica documenting skiers and their relationship with the mountains. Jordan is the winner of last year's Deep Winter Photo Challenge, and the Olympus Pro Photographer Showdown.
When not photographing or skiing, he is completing a Political Science degree at Simon Fraser university in Vancouver, eventually.

PAUL MORRISON
More than any other North American ski resort, Whistler offers endless challenges and rewards. In my opinion, the 'Deep Winter Photo Challenge' personifies Whistler more than any other single event.
In January, the BC coast usually experiences huge storms that result in the epic conditions that make Whistler and now, Deep Winter, unrivaled in our sport.
To be returning to be a part of the 4th edition of this event is the highlight of the winter for me. Bring it on!

NICOLAS TEICHROB
Nicolas Teichrob currently resides in beautiful Roberts Creek, British Columbia, although his time is spent chasing powder, trails, and surf all around BC.Inspired by unique angles and circumstances, Nicolas is on a constant search for the perfect moment.
Relative newcomer to action sports photography, his first season of dedicated shooting landed his images in many international magazines and on a couple of covers. Nicolas draw his inspiration from the natural world and the beautiful moments in time that are everywhere.
Nicolas has just finished up a Master of Science degree at the University of British Columbia where he studied the glaciers and streams on Blackcomb Mountain. Throw in some coldwater surfing, loamy backyard singletrack, a wonderful wife and that sums up his current life.
